It’s no joke, the Royal Air Force was founded on April 1, 1918 and is the oldest independent air force in the world. Before the US entered World War I in April of 1917, many Americans enlisted in the Royal Flying Corps, as it was then known.

On the night before Christmas, in “40 below” temperatures, one fictional American pilot engaged the infamous (or famous, depending which side you were on) Red Baron and the “dog” fight went something like this.
