The North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library Board of Trustees has determined the following policy for the use of the copier by persons and organizations other than the Library.
The copier is available for individuals to have items copied at a cost of $.20 per page on one side or $.30 for both sides. Staff will operate the copier except when special arrangements have been made. Copies of Tax Forms will be $.05 per page on one side or $.10 for both sides. Copies for Senior Citizens will be copied at a cost of $.10 per page on one side or $.15 for both sides. Copies will not be made if the staff does not have the time at the moment the patron, etc., requests the copier. The materials can be left and the staff will copy them when time permits.
Students with school assignments requiring materials that cannot be checked out will be permitted 3 copies free and a cost of $.20 thereafter.
Governmental units and private non-profit groups will be able to copy materials at $.03 per side with a minimum of 50 sides at a time. The group will provide paper or copying rates will be as for individuals. Special arrangements can be made at the Librarian's discretion.
Commercial concerns will be permitted to copy materials at the rate of $.05 per side at the discretion of the Librarian. A minimum of 100 sides is required and the concern must provide paper or the rates will be as for private individuals.
The Library abides by the National Copyright Code.
The North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library operates according to the Indiana Public Library Law of 1947 as amended (IC 20-14-1-4) The Indiana Library Trustees Manual will be a guideline for the structure of the Board of Trustees.
The FAX machine will be used first for quick communication of things not appropriate for a telephone call, U.S. mail or UPS relating to the function of the Library.
Charges for use of the FAX will be used to recover the cost of supplies and telephone charges.
There will be no charges for information through interlibrary loan.
The Library Board of Trustees and staff will be able to use the FAX machine for the actual cost of the telephone call.
Patrons may send or receive when the FAX machine is not needed for Library communications. When cover letters are used in transmission they will be included in page charges and will be considered as the first page of any transmission. To send or receive a FAX it will cost $1.00 for the first page and a charge of 50 cents for each additional page will be assessed.
It is the policy of the North Judson-Wayne Township Public Library that the video projector system may be used by non-profit groups, community groups, other units of government, and the schools and businesses of North Judson and Wayne Township, then by other groups in Starke County without fees. Similar groups from outside of the county may use the video projector system by leaving a $100 deposit that will be refunded when all components of the system are returned in working order.
The video projector system consists of a video projector and carrying case, VCR/DVD player and carrying case, and connector cables. It is not necessary to check out all components of the system at any one time.
The system must be reserved in advance for specific occasions. Scheduling is on a first come, first serve basis. Library programs take priority followed by North Judson and Wayne Township groups and residents then Starke County groups and residents and, lastly, groups and residents from outside Starke County. The system may not be reserved by any group - except the library - for regular use in one of their on-going programs (i.e. every Thursday from 12 to 2 all year). However, it may be reserved for a series of dates for programs with definite starting and ending times. Scheduling for this type of event is up to the Librarian's discretion. The equipment may be picked up the evening of the day before scheduled use and returned the morning of the day after scheduled use.
At least one individual from the reserving group needs to come to the library and sign out the pieces of the system to be used. For the most part the system will be checked to see that all parts of the system have been returned in working order. Any damage, beyond normal wear and tear, sustained to the system while it is in the custody of a group other than the library will become the financial responsibility of that group. Any malfunction of the equipment should be reported to the library as soon as possible.
